The evolution of Morgan's model line-up shows admirable faith to fundamental design principles. The 4-4 of 1936 morphed into the +4 in 1950, then the +8 (essentially a +4 with a Rover V8) in 1968, then the Aero 8 in 2000... they've effectively been making the same car for a tremendously long time, and they've been doing it very well.
The Eva GT, launched in concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, shares the (aluminium, not wooden) chassis of the Aeromax Supersports, with power coming from a 302bhp twin-turbo BMW straight-six. For your £80k-ish, you get 0-60mph in 4.5s, a top speed of 170mph and an impressive 40mpg. You also get one of the most astonishingly beautiful cars ever built. You thought the Aeromax was pretty?
