Tempo Matador

The Tempo Matador is a curious thing. Built by Hamburg's Vidal & Sohn Tempo-Werke GmbH from 1949-51, they were powered by VW Beetle engines and running gear, configured to drive the front wheels. 1362 trucks and vans were built, but only ten are thought to exist today. A rare beast, then.

And here we find a meticulously and painstakingly restored example from California, having been imported from Belgium. This is a full nut-and-bolt resto, and what better way to evoke the spirit of Hamburg than to fill the truck-bed with beer bottles...?
