Aston Martin has had a long and fruitful relationship with styling house Zagato. For as long as anyone can remember, they've been adding double-bubble roofs and imposing crosshatched snouts to the cream of A-M's catalogue. And 2011 sees the fiftieth anniversary of the two brands' relationship - it's only right to celebrate that fact with something a little special.
So here it is: the Aston Martin V12 Zagato. Based on the V12 Vantage, it features some pretty special bodywork; bespoke, hand-beaten aluminium in shapes that simply could not be crafted by machine. The front wings alone are formed from seven separate slices of metal.
The mechanicals are unchanged, but with a 510bhp 6.0-litre V12, you're over-catered for in the power stakes as it is. When the car looks this brutal, you'll spend as much time cruising the Riviera as you will pounding the 'Ring... but, of course, if track work is your thing, you'll be pleased to know that the V12 Zagato is also available as a fully-specced endurance racer. Something for everyone, then.
