Lamborghini have released a dramatic new trailer for the Murciélago's replacement: the Aventador.
The problem with having a run-out model as brutal as the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce is that you've set your own bar exceedingly high. This doesn't seem to have troubled Lamborghini any, however.
Never ones to make things easy for themselves, they've created an all-new V12 for the Aventador. The old Murci V12 (whose roots trace back to the Miura) was staggeringly good, but for the Aventador to be a new car, they felt that everything should be new. So we get 691bhp from the new 6.5-litre unit along with all-new transmission, suspension... everything. The aerospace-grade carbon-fibre structure is ultra-light and ultra-strong, and the whole car is made of angles. Gorgeous, exquisitely juxtaposed angles. It'll hit 60mph in 2.8 seconds (just shut your eyes for a moment and picture that), going onto 217mph.
This is the new supercar benchmark. Now watch everyone else scrabble to catch up.
