This car also became the first Ferrari car that four-wheel (4WD), and devices equipped with dual clutch transmissions of F1 cars.
This car is much referred to as a substitute for the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, but the newer car is superior than the Scaglietti. Problem fuel consumption for example, Ferrari FF more efficient. The 2002 Ferrari 360 GT is very much like the cars that JMB raced in 2001. Again, Michelotto is responsible for the body developments which hold Pininfarina's original lines. Bodywork revisions include a NACA duct on front lid for interior cooling, wider front and rear fenders, a larger, more developed rear wing and a new front valance which can support the optional driving lights.
Since the introduction of the 360 Modena, Ferrari has received numerous requests for factory-prepared cars for other international championships. With the help of factory backing, the JMB Competition team 360 fought off the Porsche competition to take the 2001 FIA N-GT World Championship team and drivers' titles.
On the strength of this showing, Ferrari has decided to produce a specific model - the 360 GT - derived from the Challenge car for privateers in the FIA N-GT and A.C.O. (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) championships in 2002. Production will be strictly limited to around 30 cars over the next three years and the ex-factory price (ie. excluding tax and delivery) is 382,000 Euros for the FIA version, and 402,000 Euros for the ACO version. The two versions differ exclusively for the aerodynamic packages and, in the case of the FIA car, the adoption of the F1-style shift.
As for mechanics, Ferrari has considered every component. The engine features, high-lift camshafts, lighter pistons, reshaped combustion chambers and re-mapped mototronics. Even with two 30.8mm air restrictors, the engine produces 430HP. This is a remarkable figure given that air restrictors stop about half of the air reaching throttle bodies.
The suspension remains similar to the production 360, having harder springs, shocks and an adjustable anti-roll bar.
Like every racecar the 360 GT is stripped of its interior luxuries with all non-essential components removed. The gauges are replaced with a digital display and a full roll cage is installed. In total, Ferrari engineers shed 600lbs off the production 360, which makes it 400 lbs lighter than the Challenge car.

The Ferrari Enzo reaches the speed of 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and the top speed is about 217 mph. The Ferrari Enzo features 6-speed Semi-Automatic transmission and the gear shifts can be performed easily and smoothly even at higher loads.
The wheels are wrapped with Bridgestone tires and it features carbon ceramic discs with six piston calipers. The car also features Anti Braking System and power steering.
The exteriors feature the stylish body structure, headlights and tail lights. The interiors are mostly designed of carbon fiber and it features the air conditioning system, navigation system and the optional launch control.

The 575M Maranello’s 12-cylinder engine retained its predecessor’s 65 degree vee angle, twin overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, light alloy engine block, heads and oil tank, and dry sump lubrication with two scavenge and one sender pump, double filter, separate tank and individual radiators. The engineers’ goal with the 575M Maranello’s V12 was simply to increase both power curve and torque. The result is that it had a new maximum power output of 515 hp (379 kW) at 7250 rpm and maximum torque of 60 kgm at 5250 rpm (588.6 Nm). Mid-range torque also increased by 1.5 kgm between 1000 and 4000 rpm compared to the 550 Maranello’s engine. These improvements were achieved by a plethora of modifications to the 12-cylinder, most notably: increased capacity, higher compression ratio, new intake fluid-dynamics, and overall improvement of engine efficiency and management.
The 575M Maranello also boasted optimal weight distribution, with a 50-50 split between the axles with the driver onboard. This came courtesy of its transaxle design which saw the rear-mounted gearbox in unit with the limited-slip differential. The 575M Maranello’s transmission sported the electro-hydraulic F1 control unit mounted at the rear of the car. This minimised response time and guaranteed optimal operating temperatures. The F1 gearchange on the 575M Maranello was optimised to be used via the manual levers mounted on the back of the steering wheel, as direct driver (rather than automatic) control guaranteed the most responsive driving in press-on situations. The driver had two main manaual gear-shifting strategies available to him via the console-mounted controls: Sport which offered faster sportier shifting and one aimed at a more laidback driving style, both of which affected damper control too. The F1-style gearbox used on the 575M Maranello cut gear-shifting times and offered damper control during gear changes. Ferrari designed the electro-hydraulic gearbox to be mainly manually actuated using the steering wheel-mounted paddles but two complimentary modes were also made available: Automatic and Low Grip.

Ferrari's GT cars have always been highly competitive in the hands of privateers, and their racing achievements have played a fundamental role in the company's motor sport history.
That's why the Ferrari Challenge one-make racing series was created - it was Ferrari's way of getting owners of its road-going GT cars back on the track. The idea for a specific competition for the 8-cylinder cars first became reality back in 1993 with the 348 Berlinetta.
In 1995 it was the turn of the F355, thanks to a special kit developed in-house by Ferrari. The 2000 season saw the debut of the 400-bhp, V8-engined 360 Modena Challenge alongside the F355. The 360 Modena maintains the same output (400 bhp @ 8,500 rpm) as the standard road car, but incorporates a number of modifications designed to radically improve its performance in track use.

The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was specifically designed to be reminiscent of legendary Ferrari road race stars of the likes of the 166 MM, the 250 GT California and the 365 GTS4 Daytona. The aim, in fact, was to create an open-top front-engined 12-cylinder with a retro feel to it. The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was designed and developed to be a unique interpretation of Ferrari’s purest and most extreme sports cars. In fact, it was a deliberate and provocative departure from the rest of the current range. As such, it was made available only as a limited edition of just 448, all of which were built in Maranello in 2001. Each car was numbered and its number displayed on a special in-car plaque signed by Sergio Pininfarina.
The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was the perfect new millennium interpretation of the classic, open-top front-engined V12 Ferrari sports car, complete with modern styling and technology. One of its signature styling cues was a traditional barchetta-style cut to the windscreen (around 100 mm lower than the 550 Maranello) with a body-coloured finish to the lower section of the surround. It was also, tellingly, a model aimed exclusively at open-air use, providing just a manual soft-top for emergency use. The functional and unadorned barchetta-type solution with a simple manual soft-top allowed Ferrari's engineers to offset the additional weight gained by reinforcing the chassis and additional safety features (rear roll-bars). Consequently the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina weighed the same as the 550 Maranello. The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina's exclusive design included other distinctive flourishes, such as Ferrari badges on the wheelarches, two-piece alloy wheels and an aluminium fuel cap. It was also available in any colour in the Ferrari range.

Ferrari 360 Spider
The 360 Spider was Ferrari’s 20th road-going convertible. It was also the best spider ever built at Maranello pre-2000 in terms of its technical content, styling and performance. In fact, this was the most technologically advanced spider in the world at the time of its launch thanks to the exclusive transfer of features derived directly from Ferrari’s experiences on the Formula 1 track. Despite its 400-hp V8 engine’s mid-position (five valves per cylinder), the Ferrari technicians still managed to design a hood that folded away automatically inside the engine bay and guaranteed its superb purity of line. This was further underscored by two fairings in the bodywork to the rear of the seats which evoke memories of Ferrari’s classic sports cars and the roll-bars that guaranteed a safe ride for driver and passenger.
The work done on the chassis focused on delivering maximum static and dynamic rigidity. The sills were reinforced too, the front part of the floor pan was stiffened, and the windshield structure redesigned. The rear bulkhead too was stiffened to dampen engine noise. The 360 Spider’s structural prowess and dynamic response set a whole new chassis-bodywork benchmark for drop-top cars, in fact. The 360 Spider’s lucky occupants were enclosed in a very strong protective crash cage completed by two tubular steel roll bars which were an actually part of the drop-top system. Together with the strengthened windscreen frame, these guaranteed significant protection in case of a roll-over. The 360 Spider had the same suspension as the coupé (double wishbone suspension front and rear) with the same antidive and antisquat geometries. Rolling and pitching were reduced to an absolute minimum and the 360 Spider proved extraordinarily precise entering corners.
The 360 Spider’s running gear was exactly the same as the berlinetta’s: a mid-rear 3586 cc V8 that punched out 400 hp at 8,500 rpm with a longitudinal gearbox in unit with the differential. The result was that both on the track and on the road the 360 Spider delivered almost identical speeds to the Modena. When the top was up or down, it could exceed 290 km/h, in fact. It was barely 60 kg heavier than its berlinetta counterpart but had the same boot space and cabin space.
Retaining the aerodynamic efficiency of the berlinetta was just one of engineers’ goals with the 360 Spider. This was achieved by using twin radiators and an undertray to channel air beneath the car to extractors under its tail. Long hours spent in the wind tunnel also meant that even though it didn’t have a spoiler or wings, it still delivered downforce of over 170 Kg at maximum speed, just 10 less than the berlinetta. This downforce figure was achieved by adding a Formula 1-derived nolder on the leading edge of the tail. The Cd went the berlinetta’s 0.33 to 0.36 in the Spider, well within normal range for a drop-top car.

The SA APERTA is a true roadster which allows its occupants to enjoy the superlative emotions afforded by our signature front-engined V12 architecture in a completely open-top setting. In fact, it has just a light soft top designed to be resorted to only if the weather gets particularly bad. A low-slung windscreen and the fact that it crouches lower to the ground than our other models lend the SA APERTA an exceptionally aerodynamic sleekness. Its profile arches back from the A-post to two aerodynamic fins beautifully integrating the two roll-bars which themselves cleverly mimic the outline of the seats.
The chassis has been redesigned to deliver a standard of stiffness comparable to that of a closed berlinetta and there is a negligible weight difference also, thanks to work done on the chassis structure.
Thanks to the 670 CV engine beneath its bonnet, the SA APERTA beautifully embodies the sporty spirit of the 599, incorporating Ferrari's most advanced technology to deliver absolutely benchmark performance and superb driving pleasure. The Ferrari 458 Italia, launched at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2009, is an 8-cylinder two-seater berlinetta with a mid-rear mounted engine, and represents a genuine break with the past in terms of Maranello's previous high-performance sports cars.
