Ron Berry - 'Shorebreak'

If Noddy went surfing, this is what he'd drive. The brainchild of celebrated customiser Ron Berry, Shorebreak is a cartoonish little woodie with a number of ingenious touches; not least the roof-mounted letterbox slot for storing a surfboard. Don't you just want to pinch its chubby little cheeks?

Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

The GT3 RS 4.0 is the 997 swansong; a Stuttgart Frankenstein's monster, mish-mashing all of the best parts of the various recent hyper-911s to create an über-911. And it works. Based on the devastatingly effective GT3 RS 3.8, it's got the RSR race car engine which revs to 8500rpm and produces a priapically exciting 493bhp, as well as enjoying the rose-jointed rear end from the widowmaker GT2 RS, carbon-fibre bonnet & wings, stiffer springs and retuned dampers, and a comically enormous race spoiler.

So, how much will the ultimate 997 cost you? A very reasonable £128,466. (Yes, that's a lot, but you'll embarrass some much more expensive Italian exotica.)
Except that you can't buy one, as all 600 have already been pre-sold. You'll just have to hang out at race tracks and see if you can catch a whiff of one...

Bottrop Kustom Kulture 2011

Running annually since 2003, Bottrop Kustom Kulture is one of Europe's largest hot-rod and custom shows, held on an airfield in north-west Germany. You can learn all about the event here, and there's a set of atmospheric and wonderfully weathered photos of the 2011 event, held last weekend, here.

Super-clean 205 GTI

The Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 is one of my all-time favourite cars; so much so, in fact, that I've owned four of them in the past. (Know the whereabouts of H737 YYE, F198 PTM, J960 JBB or D364 LWW? Get in touch!) Everything about them is just perfect - the palpable lightness, the impeccably placeable handling, the urge from that zingy four-pot, the way the oh-so-eighties cabin shrinks around you... it's FWD heaven.
And when my lottery numbers come up, I'll be buying something like this example, available via 4 Star Classics. 100% original and in concours condition, it's on sale at a meaty £9,995. In this condition, they're probably not going to be getting any cheaper...
